You knew it was coming. If you didn't, you should have.
A dirty little rumor has been circulating through the community sites for a while now. It says that Infinity Ward started working on the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just a few weeks ago.
Somebody knew what the hell he was talking about.
Destructoid and Rock, Paper, Shotgun (among others) reported today that while the November 10 release date is still a go for the consoles, the PC version of MW2 has been pushed back to November 24. WePlayCoD has obtained semi-official confirmation from Activision:
Have we become the bastard step-children of the franchise? Yes, we have.

A quick call to an Activision representative (after being immediately forwarded by the IW rep) gave us an "on the record" yet "off the record" statement that it does indeed look like the PC version has been "slightly" delayed. We were told that an "official" release that confirms this delay should be coming shortly. Thus far, the delay has been reported for the European market only, but a North American announcement is inevitable.
While this is still classified as rumor, our Activision rep (who shall remain nameless) did confirm this delay for us.

Mother Truckers.
ReplyDeleteWe built the the franchise only to be rolled over by the console pukes. That's just great.
I now have far less faith in this game than I did before. As I think most would agree- console ports don't play well on the PC. I need a game that is, was, and will be made for a mouse and keyboard, and not a D-pad.
hi ha hoaxy, lalalalala. Either free publicity for Activison or site hits for the site that started the rumour.
